Noah Kahan, a name that strikes so many hearts in the music world, has recently shared with fans upon Instagram announcing his upcoming album release on April 28th named, The Great Divide. He has fans raving about it.
Why? A man from Vermont who, according to UPPROXX (a prominent digital media and entertainment company), is reminded of a northern Zack Bryan who writes about the masculine image that has gone through trauma and addiction and “stoically” nursing wounds and “feelings about failed relationships and troubled childhoods.”
His poetically strung lyrics or his in-between genre style; A happy medium between pop and folk that brings a broad spectrum of people together into a space of serenity and similarity.
Isabella Amos, a young adult who has been a supporter of Noah’s music for years states, “It’s been about four years since his last album, so I know he’s taken time and sincerity to write this one and also his entire thing is being humble, so I know it’ll be genuine and authentic.”
Without sacrificing quality, it is impossible for artists to release songs at a fast pace. With that being said, Kahan’s special announcement is touching so many fans. I mean, imagine waiting four years for such a moment as this.
According to KS95 today’s variety, Noah Kahan is extremely frustrated with having to wait to release his new music, and not being allowed to explain why he is having to wait. For an artist as passionate as him, his frustration is so valid.
The way his lyrics speak through to people captivates his large audience in a way that brings them back to why they are here to begin with. Cooke explains, “To me it feels as though for the few minutes his songs play all of my complicated emotions are brought together into a beautiful picture that makes me see how beautiful the human experience is.”
Considering that this is how his Stick Season album has made people feel, I can only image how much of an affect his new album, The Great Divide, is going to have on people.
Cooke adds, “this one stands out as the needed relief in the times of darkness and confusion. It stands out to me as a point of unification that appeals to the humanity that is in us all. No matter where you come from, what you do, who you are, Noah Kahan’s music will speak to you and tell you a beautiful story.”
