A Peek Into What Student Government Is Up To

Student Government has been focusing this semester on being more accessible and present for the student body. A lot of important conversations happen around campus that shape how the college is run, and it’s important that students feel welcome to have their voices heard.

In the coming weeks, we’ll be setting up “Meet SGA” tables all around campus. These tables are a simple way to get the chance to meet members of Student Government, ask questions, and share some of your valuable ideas. Please feel free to walk up, introduce yourself, and allow your voice to be heard.

We will also be announcing Student Town Halls, where students can speak openly about what’s going well and what we can help improve. These discussions are a great way to speak out and be honest. Our goal is to make sure the real lived student experience is what shapes campus decisions.

Another priority we have is to expand student involvement on campus committees. Many decisions affecting academics, student life, and campus planning happen in these spaces. It’s important that students who are directly impacted have a voice in those outcomes.

Student Government is looking for representation for Niagara Falls Culinary Institute, an Academic Senator for Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences, and Nursing. Filling these positions is crucial for ensuring that students in these departments receive the spotlight and representation they deserve. No experience is necessary, just someone willing to speak up for what is needed.

We want to hear from you. Whether you’re a member of a club, a sports team, full-time, part-time, commuter, or anything in between, we want to know what you want to get out of Student Government. Our mission is to be the voice for all students, so please scan this QR code and fill out the form so we can work to serve you.
If you are interested in any of these positions, or just want to share your input, please email me at clococo630@Myncc.niagaracc.suny.edu.
