Hello Spirit readers. My name is Christian Lococo, and this is my first column as the Student Government President, and I will have a regular section in the Spirit. I’m hoping to keep this column really simple, a place I can tell you what the SGA is working on/towards.
A little bit about me. I grew up in a really big family. I’ve worked full time while attending SUNY Niagara. I am big into debate, which is why I created a debate club. I’m a part of multiple councils and committees so I can guarantee that the voice of the students is heard by the faculty. But to guarantee that I’m actually expressing your thoughts, I need to hear from you.
So this is why I need your help. If something on campus is being done really well, let SGA know. If something seems unfair, let me know. If you have ideas to make student life better, share it. My role can only work if you speak out.
My goal isn’t to make this column go one way. Each issue, I will highlight your concerns, share updates on what SGA is doing, and make sure you’re informed on ways you can get involved.
So please feel free to reach out. Email me at Clococo630@mynccc.niagaracc.suny.edu. Soon we will have a website dedicated to your voice and transparency. Even one idea can make a difference. Together we can make sure that the student voice is not only heard but acted on.
