Niagara Pumpkin Farm is a family owned and operated business in Sanborn, New York that offers fun family and friend events this fall season. From pumpkin picking, activities, and even a haunted hay ride.
The privilege of interviewing Alicia was incredible, the brains behind this beautiful place. They started around three years ago, at the location across the school. This family of six started out in North Tonawanda, by starting off showing their love for Halloween by creating a walk-through display for neighbors and friends to visit– they even started collecting cans of food and money donations for their local charities, such as SPCA, Ten Lives Club, Oishei Children’s hospital, and more. Alicia states in her post on Facebook, “Giving back has always been the center of what we do.”
Over time, as their family grew, Alicia and Kyle decided to venture out to Niagara County, finding a land of 15 acres with a house that was the oldest on the street – and decided to make their dream life a reality. They began to get farm supplies, animatronics, sets, and a little farm began to grow. With the help of local farmers, they began to grow their own pumpkins – which was a dream of Alicia’s since she was a child. Kyle helped bring it to life by working with local carpenters, business owners, and other inquiries to bring the vision into action. Now, they own fifteen acres of land, eleven goats, three bunnies, and a beautiful farm that is open for the public to enjoy as well.
Over the last few years, Niagara Pumpkin Farm has had fun events for the family, such as pumpkin smashing, “pig races”, pumpkin bowling, hay rides, haunted hay rides, pumpkin picking, and more! Recently, they expanded their activities. This year, they offer a corn-pit, pumpkin launching, and more activities during their haunted hayride – which includes a walkthrough part where you can interact with actors, amazing sets, and beautiful imagery. They also offer a variety of snacks such as popcorn, cinnamon donuts, coffee and lattes, and more. They even offer their own merch line that you can purchase at the farm itself; including crewnecks, t-shirts, hats, sweatshirts, and even some custom-made bills gear. They are also sponsored by local businesses and charities to donate money for foundations to help our communities.
Their pricing is very reasonable as well, offering bundles for families, kids, and an added teen/young adult section. Tickets start at $15 for the bundles, and hours are open five days a week! They are closed on Mondays and Thursdays, and are open until ten PM on weekends.
This sweet family deserves every bit of recognition they get, and is a fun and cheap way to spend time with family and friends this fall season. Get in while you can! They’re open Saturday, September 27th, to November 1st. It’s a great place to visit, and getting to know about the history and the family themselves will make you love this place even more.
