Canada’s Tulip Farm Experience

By: Ryann Sniadecki

Located in North Pelham, Niagara, Ontario, Canada is the JP Niagara Tulip Experience. Between late April and May, dates do vary in May, JP Niagara Tulip Experience allows visitors to take photos with their over 2.5 millions tulips & over 85 varieties of tulips.

Alongside being a great place to take photos, you’re also allowed to pick out your own tulips to take home.

Last year I was able to go visit the JP Niagara Tulip Experience. Although it was fun, I did get bored after about an hour and a half. This was due to me not wearing the wrong type of shoes, and also because it had rained so much that week some of the rows were both “flooded” and muddy.

For those who do go I suggest either wearing shoes you don’t care about getting dirty, bring an extra pair of shoes, or bring/wear a pair of boots which is the best option. Depending on the time of day and/or the weather be prepared for crowds.

Lastly I suggest doing some research on what the “perfect” tulip is. This can help you pick the best one and have it last long, after you’ve picked it. You can also ask the staff members for advice on what the “perfect” tulip looks like.

Canada also holds an annual tulip festival happening right now, between May 9-19. The festival is held in Ottawa, Canada but other major cities do hold their own versions of the festival and many local farms grow tulips for you to pick.
